How We Review AI Girlfriend Apps

What we check, what keeps an app off the list, how rankings are decided and how this site makes money.

Here's how I put these pages together, start to finish. No lab, no stopwatch. Just a lot of reading, done carefully. For every app I go through what it says about itself: the pricing page, the plan comparison, help articles, the terms, the privacy policy, and its App Store and Google Play listings. Then I write down three things. What you get. What it costs. What the catch is.

If two of those sources disagree, and they often do, I tell you. If I can't confirm something, I leave it out rather than guess.

What I check

  • Price, every plan of it. I take it from the app's own pages and quote the lowest monthly cost, along with the plan it comes from (usually the yearly one).
  • The free version, counted in what you can actually do: messages, characters, coins, days. If it wants a card, you'll hear about it.
  • Companion features. Memory first, then voice, pictures, video, group chats and how far you can shape her personality.
  • The company behind it, with the name and country from the terms or the store listing.
  • Billing and refunds. What shows on your statement when that's documented, whether refunds exist, and whether a trial quietly becomes a subscription.

What keeps an app off the list

Being popular doesn't get an app in. I drop anything that turns real people's photos into content, or uses someone's likeness without their consent, anything whose characters, tags or ads suggest someone under 18, anything with tricky billing like fake countdown timers, and clones of someone else's product. In October 2026 that ruled out several apps you've probably heard of.

How rankings are decided

Each ranking answers its own question, which is why the order shifts from page to page. On the home page it's which app gives you the most for your money. On the free page it's which free plan you can actually live with. After that, the free plan, the real monthly price, memory and the extras (pictures, voice, video) count, roughly in that order.

How pages stay current

Apps change prices without telling anyone, so I go back regularly. Each page shows when its facts were last checked, and reviews list their sources with dates. If a number looks off, it probably changed after the date shown, and it'll be corrected at the next check.

How we make money

Some links here are affiliate links. Sign up for a paid plan through one and the app pays this site a commission. You pay the same price either way. At the moment that's Candy AI, Nomi AI, OurDream AI and Swipey AI; links to the other apps are ordinary links.

Nobody pays for a position, and no commission gets an app past the checks above. The money keeps the site running. It doesn't decide the order.
